Axalta Coating Systems, a leading global supplier of liquid and powder coatings, was honored yesterday before an audience of several hundred at Delaware County Chamber of Commerce’s annual dinner at Drexelbrook Special Event Center. Axalta’s North American headquarters received the Chamber’s Business of the Year Award.
 
Michael Carr, Axalta’s President of North America, accepted the prestigious honor on behalf of the organization. “We are thrilled to receive this recognition. It is a testament to the passion, work ethic and formidable ability that our employees bring to work every day,” said Carr. “I am excited to be a part of this brilliant team that has such a winning attitude.”
“We welcome the opportunity to honor Axalta, as the 2015 Business of the Year. They have brought more than 230 jobs to the area by establishing their North American Headquarters in Concord Township. We are pleased they chose to become a part of our vibrant economic community, and wish them continued success in the county,” said Delaware County Chamber of Commerce President Trish McFarland.

To commemorate the award, Vice Chairman of the Delaware County Council Colleen Morrone presented a resolution on behalf of the Council to Carr: “Whereas, Axalta engages with local organizations, sharing their expertise in the sciences, sustainable technology, and ways to protect the environment, improving the lives of local residents. Now, therefore, be it resolved, that we, the County Council of Delaware County, hereby commend and congratulate Axalta Coating Systems for being named the Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year for 2015. We extend to the company’s leaders and staff our most sincere best wishes for continued growth and future success.”

Some of Axalta’s 2015 milestones include several facility groundbreakings, the introduction of new powder products and primers, the grand opening of its eleventh training center, the launch of its Automotive Color of the Year program and collaborative research on water-based coatings with Massachusetts Institute of Technology to name a few.
Axalta is planning for another stellar year in 2016. It will reveal its Automotive Color of the Year 2016, open a new Customer Experience Center and celebrate its 150th anniversary of innovation to name a few of the exciting things to come.
